As part of Daastan and KhudKaar‘s upcoming event Lit’Think Layyah, we are launching a short Story writing competition ‘KhudMukhtaar’. KhudMukhtaar aims to develop a sense of responsibility in people to help eradicate poverty and create a better living standard for the working classes.
What is Lit’Tech Layyah?
Layyah has been one of most neglected cities of South Punjab where talented people are unable to earn a decent living. Lack of awareness, access to opportunities and absence of digital infrastructure has further worsened the situation.
Daastan has teamed up with KhudKaar House – Layyah’s first community center to launch incubation programs to teach modern digital skills of creative industry to local youth and provide themwith hi-tech digital devices and hi-speed internet so they can unlock global opportunities.
What is KhudMukhtaar?
KhudMukhtaar is a short-story writing competition as part of Lit’Tech Layyah. KhudMukhtaar is a unique opportunity for the local content creators to come forward and contribute local stories in local languages. Daastan will collect the best stories and publish them in the form of an ebook on Qissa – Pakistan’s premier book publishing platform.
KhudMukhtaar – Theme and Rules
The theme of our short-story Writing Competition is Self-reliance ( خود مختار). The topic of our short story writing contest is (میں خود مختار، میرا وجود خود کار!) I am self-reliant and self-made is my existence. Rules for the contest are as follows:
- Word Limit: 1000-1500 words
- Submission Deadline 25th March
- Foul language will lead to disqualification
