Daastan <\/a>may have started small, but in no way was it destined to remain that way as the years rolled by. When the team started out, one of their primary missions was to help train raw talent<\/em> from across the whole country and maybe even beyond, and enable them in setting up their literary ventures through the Qissa <\/a>portal \u2013 or help them polish their skills <\/em>to perfection, making them industry-fit<\/em> and ready for hiring<\/em>. We at Daastan<\/a>, have always felt it as one of our responsibilities to reach out and give opportunities<\/strong> to anyone who has even a smidge of talent, along with a ton of passion<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sponsoring the EME Olympiad:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was to uphold this very ideal that Daastan <\/a>jumped forward at the mention of giving support<\/strong> to the first competition which reached out to them i.e. the EME Olympiad<\/a><\/strong>. A delegation from team Daastan <\/a>consisting of Ms. Sidra Amin, <\/strong>Co-Founder<\/em>, and Ms. Mahnoor Naseer<\/strong>, Editor-In-Chief <\/em>were invited to judge the Speed Writing<\/em> as well as the Poetry Slam competition.<\/em> The two exceptionally talented ladies were honored to have been given the opportunity to witness such exceptional work<\/em> by some of the participants. The delegation also consisted of Ms. Syeda Aleena Bukhari<\/strong>, a Literary Fellow graduate<\/em> and a part of Urdu Editorial Board<\/em> at Daastan, who was there to judge and score the participants enrolled in Urdu based literary competitions<\/em>. Daastan provided a sponsorship of almost 50,000 PKR<\/strong> to EME Olympiad, along with social media support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PIEAS National Olympiad x Daastan:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A month later, we had the opportunity to collaborate<\/a> with and provide funding to the PIEAS National Olympiad<\/a><\/strong>. One of the biggest Olympiads being held in the twin cities, with participation from more than 30 Universities<\/strong> from all over Pakistan. The team of Daastan <\/a>saw more than 800 participants<\/em> competiting each other and showcasing their skills. Their literary modules were judged by a delegation of Daastan<\/a>, consisting of Ms. Areesh Fatmee<\/strong>, Director PR Daastan<\/em>, Ms. Syeda Aleena Bukhari<\/strong>, Urdu Editor Daastan<\/em>, and Ms. Aaina Batool<\/strong>, published author at Qissa<\/em>. Daastan <\/a>also offered print publishing<\/em> to the winners, along with marketing <\/em>on social media to provide additional support to the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IST Youth Carnival:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same week as the PIEAS National Olympiad, Daastan also collaborated with the IST Youth Carnival<\/a><\/strong>. Our published author Ms. Iqra Saeed<\/strong> set up a stall there and spread awareness on the literary industry and self-publishing scenario in Pakistan, and Daastan <\/a>also provided judges<\/em> to adjudicate the short story competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
