{"id":3959,"date":"2018-09-30T17:35:14","date_gmt":"2018-09-30T17:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/daastan.com\/blog\/?p=3959"},"modified":"2020-08-17T19:21:12","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T19:21:12","slug":"so-are-you-oneofthefifty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daastan.com\/blog\/so-are-you-oneofthefifty\/","title":{"rendered":"So, Are You #OneOftheFifty?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>During the mid-summer of 2018, before <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=mubi.msi.dastan.dastaannaama&amp;fbclid=IwAR3J-8YcAIrtFKH_L859IjyyLAh-H-kat_kFQ-AFmiTwteYCUr5eKjSo2Ck\"><strong>Daastan Naama<\/strong> app<\/a> was made available to the public through Google Play Store, an extensive <strong>marketing campaign<\/strong> was conducted on social media websites. The campaign, recorded under the hashtag of #OneOftheFifty, gained so much popularity and garnered an astonishing amount of traffic. People from all around the world wanted to be featured on <em>Daastan Naama<\/em>. Our team was constantly being asked questions to find out what it is that needed to be done to become a part of #OneOftheFifty. Speculations bloomed about who these celebrated authors were, how they were selected, and what is it that they were a part of. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The #OneOftheFifty:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Creative <em>posters <\/em>were designed which had the picture and name of the author, along with the title of their work which was to appear in Daastan Naama. The posters were titled with hashtags of <strong>#Top50AuthorsYouDontKnowAbout <\/strong>and <strong>#OneofFifty, <\/strong>which created a buzz in the whole community of Daastan over what was coming. Eventually it would become clear that the work of these authors would be uploaded to the app in the style of <em>poetry recitals and podcasts<\/em>. This innovative twist on sharing their work <em>brought it to life<\/em>, and that too in their very own voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"690\" src=\"https:\/\/daastan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Spugmai-Alee-Khattak-Daastan-Naama-1024x690-1024x690.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"4611\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Daastan Naama:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each author in the spotlight had something unique to add to the app. The very first one was <em>Ms. Kayenaat Hameed Khattak<\/em>, an English poetess whose poem <strong>\u201cGod is Great\u201d <\/strong>was chosen for the app. The next author was <em>Ms. Dania Shah<\/em>, whose Urdu humorous prose <strong>\u201cMuhabbat ki Shadi\u201d <\/strong>found its way up, followed by Urdu prose of <em>Ms. Durre Shahwar Ali<\/em>. Other English poets featured included <em>Ms. Waneeza Zia<\/em>,  <em>Ms. Momina Latif<\/em>,  <em>Ms. Maryam<\/em> <em>Mr. Hassan Naqvi<\/em>, <em>Mr. Saad Ahmad<\/em>,  <em>Ms. Maryam Arshad<\/em>, etc. <em>Mr. Morgan Melhuish<\/em>, from the United Kingdoms, also contributed an English poem. Another very curious and pleasant feature was the addition of two <strong><em>Pashto <\/em><\/strong>poems by <em>Ms. Spugmai Alee Khattak<\/em>, and also a poetry piece in <strong>Punjabi <\/strong>by <em>Mr. Abrar Nadeem<\/em>, an award-winning author and script writer for PTV.
