In October<\/em>, Daastan<\/a> released Zoha Khalid<\/a>\u2019s poetry collection: Rhyming Life<\/a>. Her book inspired team Daastan to have a Poetry Challenge<\/em> amongst ourselves. It was all fun and games until we decided to take it to the next level<\/em> and include our Instagram followers too! We were overwhelmed by the number of entries and amount of talent you all have shown us.<\/p>\n

Poetry Challenge – Prompt:<\/h2>\n

The prompt for our October Poetry Challenge was- Erlebnisse (n.) the experiences, positive or negative, that we feel most deeply, and through which we truly live; not mere experiences but experiences. <\/em>After a lot of thought, we finally decided a prompt that we felt was an interesting choice.<\/p>\n

On that note, we\u2019d like to share extracts from the poems of the winning individuals.<\/p>\n

    Rains and Bliss and Joy<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201cThe mind wandering back in the memory\u2019s lane,
    \nWhy does this season unbolt nostalgia\u2019s gate?\u201d<\/p>\n

      The War<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \u201cI see no stars, no light, and no hope.
      \nWould you be my Sun? Before I erode?
      \nIt\u2019s a war, which no one knows.
      \nThis was a glimpse, unlike your reality shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

        I wish<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        \u201cI wish!
        \nI could live in a world,
        \nWhere I don\u2019t have to pretend,
        \nLiving my life my own way.\u201d<\/p>\n

        We\u2019re not going to lie, selecting just 3 people as winners was one of the hardest decisions our editors had to take in the month of October! All the entries submitted were remarkably well written and we\u2019d like to thank everyone who participated. Good job, you all!<\/p>\n
