With our #MyPeriodStory<\/a> campaign coming to an end, we\u2019re happy to announce the positive outcomes regarding the conversations surrounding periods. The joint efforts of Daastan<\/a> and Raaji<\/a> proved fruitful. At Daastan, the month of February was an ode to womanhood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Periods – We said it out loud!<\/h2>\n

Periods<\/em> are a normal body process. Let\u2019s treat them like one. The purpose of our campaign was \u00a0to remove the stigma<\/em> surrounding them. Therefore, we took this brave step of launching a campaign solely aimed at discussing all things period. At \u00a0first, just like one would expect we too expected a mixed response. But our fears resolved\u00a0quickly on seeing the positive feedback.<\/p>\n

Periods Awareness Campaign<\/h2>\n

Our bodies are our homes<\/em>. It is our right to know them. Yet in many South Asian cultures<\/em>, there\u2019s no room for such conversations. Most of the times, people look down upon these subjects. Hence, they associate shame with menstruation. Do you know that millions of women in Pakistan & India are not aware of how their bodies function? But worry not! We have an awareness blog<\/a> explaining your most common period concerns. Influx of Entries<\/h2>\n

The influx of entries took away all our fears. We are always grateful for your submissions. They bring us immense joy. For, you are the future of our country. And we are glad that our future is in the hands of the youth that understands periods are something natural. There is nothing to be ashamed about them.<\/p>\n
