Embracing martyrdom is the bravest thing one does for a country. However, a soldier embracing martyrdom is also someone\u2019s father, son, brother, husband and friend. Today at Daastan<\/a>, we are paying tribute to one such brave son of our soil. Lt. Nasir Hussain Shaheed<\/strong> embraced martyrdom on September 3rd, 2020<\/strong> at the age of 23<\/strong>. He was martyred in Waziristan along with three other soldiers by an IED<\/strong> blast.<\/p>\n

We are here to remember the sacrifice of Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Shaheed and get to know more about him from his mother.<\/p>\n

\"Nasir<\/a><\/p>\n

As a young boy, how was Lt. Nasir different from other people? \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nasir displayed the qualities of being different since his childhood. He was a compassionate<\/em> and loving<\/em> soul. From family and friends to even strangers, Nasir treated everyone with the same kindness. One of the most inspiring qualities Nasir had was selflessness<\/em>. When it came to helping the people around him, he did everything he could do to help them selflessly. Nasir was responsible and aware of his duties as a son, student and a Pakistani.<\/p>\n

What inspired Lt. Nasir Hussain Shaheed to join Army?<\/h3>\n

Nasir\u2019s grandfather served in the Pakistan Army. In addition to that his father was a police officer. Therefore, since childhood he understood the value of serving one\u2019s country. His father and grandfather were a great source of inspiration for him. Nasir followed in their footsteps and became a soldier. However, he was not an ordinary soldier. He completed 137th<\/b> long course of Pakistan Military Academy (PMA)<\/b>. Moreover, he was a graduate of Royal Military Academy<\/b>. RMC also held a special ceremony paying tribute to him.<\/p>\n

What aspects of Lt. Nasir\u2019s personality you want people to remember?<\/h3>\n

Nasir had an unwavering spirit and positive attitude towards life. After his father\u2019s death, we went through a dark time in our lives. There were many years of hardships, loss and grief. Through all this time, Nasir remained hopeful. He used to say to me, \u201cMama everything is going to be alright. All the bad times were not for nothing. Good times are coming.\u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

What is your message to the people of Pakistan?<\/h3>\n

Everything in life happens for a reason. All the hardships in life are there to teach us to put our trust in Allah. My message for everyone is to let God take your hand and guide you through life\u2019s journey. I did that too after my husband\u2019s death and then after the death of my son. To the mothers of martyrs, I would like to say that we are special mothers and God chose us for this honour.<\/p>\n
