Today at Daastan<\/a>, we are debating whether movie adaptations<\/em> as are as futile as readers make them sound or is there another side to this claim.<\/p>\n

The books vs movie adaptations<\/h2>\n

Nowadays tons and tons of books are not only made into movies<\/em> but also years long TV adaptations<\/em> (series). However, the question arises \u201cis there a need for a TV adaptation or are books enough on their own?\u201d<\/em> While there maybe cases where poorly made adaptations enrage readers but there have also been adaptations as good as the book itself. Some may go as far as to say that good cinematography<\/em> can change a bad book for the better. Therefore, one really comes to the conclusion that this debate can not reach a verdict<\/em>. Without further ado, let\u2019s talk about some famous books and their adaptions to see which one is better.<\/p>\n

All the Bright Places<\/h2>\n

One afternoon on the ledge of the school building Violet Markey<\/em> meets Theodore Finch<\/em>. Violet was the school\u2019s \u2018famous girl\u2019 <\/i>until one day she wasn\u2019t. After her first brush with death, Violet grows estranged<\/i> from her environment. She becomes fixated on her sister\u2019s death, reliving it again and again in her mind. To find her way back to the land of living Violet must get out of her comfort zone<\/i>. On her journey of healing<\/i>, she makes the most unexpected friend, whose own demons seem to follow him everywhere.<\/p>\n

For Gen Z <\/i>when \u201cAll the Bright Places<\/a>\u201d<\/i> came out it was a book that dealt not only with coming-of-age <\/i>experiences but also the sensitive topic of suicide<\/i>. Jennifer Niven\u2019s<\/i> book soon became a bestseller and talk of the town. After its release in 2015<\/i>, fans wrote fan fiction and made movie trailers for the book. Finally, after almost 5<\/i> years of book\u2019s release Netflix<\/i> came out with movie adaptation of \u201cAll the Bright Places\u201d. To their disappointment, one of the most anticipated movie of the year ended up being underwhelming.<\/p>\n

The Shadow Hunters<\/h2>\n

A 15 year old girl \u2018Clary Fray\u2019<\/em> from New York finds her whole world shifting when she comes across Shadow Hunters.<\/em> Shadow Hunters – a community of people with half angel<\/em> and half mundane blood<\/em>. Her introduction to the shadow world turns her life upside down and Clary discovers her true self amidst betrayal, loss and magical creatures<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Over the years there have been not only one movie adaptation<\/em> but also a show based off Mortal Instruments<\/em> by CW<\/em>. There are mixed opinions among the fans about these adaptations.
