In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. 14:1

This book is one of the best things that happened to me. Through this book, I got many answers. I have been working on it since 2024 and now it transformed into a book.

I dedicate this piece of art to all my listeners: my Taya Abu G Manzoor, my Chacha g Zahoor, my Ali Mammo, my Abu G, Zohrain Api, Sir Ahtisham and my Nano. Moreover, like me, this book is nothing without the mention of my teachers who believed in me including Miss Kanwal, Dr. Zahra, Miss Zaryaab, Sir Usman, Sir Gull Ch., Sir Gazali, Sir Umer and Sir Armaan, Sir Paracha and Sir Amir. The most important one is Sir Arif of ELC College who gave me an opportunity to be the best version of myself, he literally let me be myself to test, to learn and to figure it out myself.

Additionally, I’m thankful to Sir Ali of Amal Academy who believed in me as a writer and influenced a writer in me to write and connected me to Sir Ommer of Daastan publishers who always guided me with the best piece of advice for my literary journey.

Lastly, a big thanks to every member of my family and all my friends including shining stars and Qalme faraz .

May the story and the characters of the book bring peace, love and joy to your life as they do to mine.

Chapter 1

What protects the soul:

Crystal or the light?

The one who fights for all

The other who destructs all

Kingdom belongs to whom?

The one who controls the power within

Or the one who controls the power outside?

Although, fate is already written, yet one can change it.

Up in the skies, a small creature with golden feathers named Cosmi is sitting on one of the thickest branches of the Tree of Life. He is enjoying the company of his friend who rarely speaks to others but is very kind and caring towards Cosmie.

“Have you seen those evil creatures here, aren't they forbidden here?” asks the small creature with purple feathers named Cosmie, up in the heavens, to the Tree of life.

“Are they really?” The tree of life questions.

“Yup, I heard a legend from the Great Tu that the Master of Evil was crushed by someone about a thousand years ago in the North so badly that he cut the access of evil in the skies,”

“That is why we are now relaxed because they cannot reach and steal the Precious sound,” The feathery creature explains to him.

“What precious sound?’’ The tree wanted to test the knowledge of the feathery creature.

“It is the sound that carries the destiny of everything down there.”

He speaks so lightly that only a soul can hear it as if he is afraid that no other being can steal his story.

“Is it?’’ The tree smiled mysteriously.

“Yeah…and do you know that the Great Tu told us they are waiting for someone who will not fear S’tana and will fight with him once again.’’

“So, why are you disturbed then?’’ The Tree questioned.

“So, my point is I’ve heard that evil energies have started visiting this place often in recent times, we don’t really know how…, but certainly they heard the sound when it was being discussed about the courageous one who will crush it again,” he said with the notion of fear in it.

The Tree started laughing as a result its white berries started falling off.

“Why are you laughing so hard?’’ asks Cosmie.

“I'm not laughing but enjoying your story,” Tree laughs again.

“But why? I'm afraid that the most valuable sound has been stolen and you are enjoying it, really?” he seemed quite surprised while laughing.

“See, what has to happen will certainly happen!’’

“But they've listened to it and they will hurt that soul of the fearless one who will…’’ he continued in a sense of threat and fear.

“And you know one of many truths of the universe is that it will be protected what has to be protected at all cost,” Tree replied.

“So, are you assuring that he will be protected?’’ He felt relaxed then.

“He…?’’ the tree repeated his words in a state of confusion.

“Yes, the fearless one.’’ He elaborated.

“Oh, the fearless one?’’ he repeated, “Only if it is to be protected,” he smiled.

*****************************

In the up North, there was only a Kingdom named NorthStar that remained unchallenged for hundreds of years but lately enemies of the past resurfaced and started fracturing the power of the Kingdom from within. The Kingdom protected people from many ruthless attacks of evils and enemies with the help of descendants of the pure soul with the assistance of forces of Good. Many enemies came and returned to graves except the S’tana. The enemy was neither be seen nor be fought against as it was not a physical body. St’ana is the evil spirit that was chained in the underworlds of the kingdom but it started causing disruption and chaos. Slowly and gradually, St’ana gained his powers over humans and started spreading chaos among them. However, he was afraid of one known as Sa’d who was the descendants of the pure blood, King Sa’d. Even Sa’d knew about St’ana’s rising control over people in his kingdom and was eliminating the threats; and as he matured into his age, he wished for an heir to his throne.

One day, in pain and despair, he looked up to the dark blue smoky sky, he whispered something in his heart that only his soul could listen to, asked for help, and immediately to his astonishment, the thunder happened and it jolted down through his soul. Undoubtedly, Heaven communicated something to him which he could not understand. So, in pain and prayer, he moved towards his bedroom, and slept in his comfortable bed and then the realm of dreams welcomed him to share something.

(Dreams are a connection that connects the souls with their worlds)

In his dream, he was standing in front of the magnificent purple tree in the sky where stardust was flowing under his feet in the river of skies, and he saw that suddenly the branches of the beautiful tree started bowing down towards him.

(The blessed souls visit and connect with the land of Eleen’s)

And it whispered something that initially made him happy, then confused and later contended.

(However, sometimes the soul does wander in other houses like Sijjin even if they don’t belong to that house)

And lastly it said, “Yield the power within,” his lips repeating those words as he moved back to the reality from his dream. He was drenched in sweat and he tried to make sense of the dream, something that made him irritated initially but contented later.

*****************************

While sitting in his cabin alone, King Sa’d enjoying his solitude, he felt and noticed that there was something mysterious yet very destructive going around the Kingdom. Indeed, it was not the myth as certain events unfolded and confirmed the rise of the Great Evil. As the King intended to go in a protective crystal jar- an ancient old gift to the Great King who weakened the evil. It used to balance the energies of the King and it is the only place where no one could enter except the chosen ones and Kings. That was more powerful and important than the whole Kingdom and the King himself.

He heard the voice that froze Sa’d in his velvet gown.

“Are you going to protect yourself from the evil outside by going in that protective crystal?’’ the mysterious yet piercing voice came.

The voice was coming from behind him. He fearfully moved his neck towards the source of the voice as if he already knew where the voice was coming from but he got irritated. He rose up from the chair and suddenly the voice stopped for a moment but then it said,

“Are you strong enough to protect your realm?”

He started following the voice. The voice was coming from behind the wooden bookshelf. As he moved towards the book shelf, the voice became louder.

“How can you protect your realm, when you cannot protect yourself enough?’’ The voice has some kind of mysterious laugh that makes his spine feel the coldness in the words.

The heart of the King was beating as fast as it would explode at any moment and even his ears could hear the DHAK DHAK of his heart. When the King moved the bookshelf away, he became horrified but then he became astonished by what he saw behind the shelf.

“You are fighting against the one whom you cannot see outside, you know why? because….”

He shrieked, and put his hand on the ear and stepped back.

(What protects the soul?)

“You have to listen to it, face it and accept it, you little timid king.”

“Because it is no one else but you who are protecting it.’’

He rushed to the book shelf and pushed it back where it was initially and then entered the protective crystal to balance his energy.

(The Crystal or the light?)

As he entered into the crystal jar, the voice not only silenced but also the fear that was suffocating him expired out.

It always felt to him that crystal takes away all his anxieties and worries.

*****************************

A brown eyed man with tense facial expressions wearing a dark-black fur cloak, holding a stick, enters into the woods. As he entered the woods, an animal welcomed him. It seems like the animal was the guardian of the forest. It was no one but the white wolf with blue feisty eyes who could speak to few. The man sat down, started patting down the wolf, and both for a brief moment shared the bond of affection. The very warm behavior of the wolf guaranteed him that everything was under control of the guardian in his absence.

The man, before continuing his journey into the woods, looked back to confirm that no one was watching him disappearing into the woods. No one really knows in the Kingdom who he is and where he hid himself except the one. The man bid goodbye to his friend and continued his journey into the dark forest.

The dark energy of the forest is very heavy and mysterious.

The man thought, “Is it the dark energy of the forest or his inner energy that makes everything around him still?”

The very fine movement of the man through the bushes and wild trees of the forest implied that he was very well-versed in the pathways and an occasional visitor of that wild forest.

Then, the stillness ended and the sound of gashing and thrusting water surrounded the man. The view in front of the man was quite a view. It is a running stream where water was flowing downwards and all his eyes could see the water and the beautiful blue flowers with humming bees around it. The man moved through the running stream and came in front of the water fountain. He disappeared into thin air with the crashing sound of water. Then, nothing remained except the chaotic sounds of water which could not join him wherever he disappeared into.

*****************************

In his dream, he was sitting in the crystal jar. Meanwhile, someone was standing at the door and then the jar opened mysteriously, and as the person entered, the King stood up to look at him and to his astonishment he found out that he was someone whom he knew very well.

“You.... I mean, YOU.... here at this moment?’’ he asked the man standing at the door.

The King was astonished that the face of that person was quite tense yet contended.

“Yes, you called me!’’ the man replied with conviction.

“I called you? When?” he repeated.

“I got to deliver you this……” he pointed towards the baby he was holding.

“What are you carrying?’’ he questioned.

“A baby boy!’’ the man whispered into his ear

“A boy!” he repeated.

“Yes, the Heavens wanted me to give it to you’’, the man explained.

“But why are you carrying this?” he stumbled. “I mean ... Why... you?’’

“Because my wife also delivered a baby recently and I was told to pass you the good news myself.’’ he explained.

(Dreams are a gateway to nothing but heaven)

And then he woke up. He remembered the very crux of the dream …... A boy and the fearless one .... The King couldn't say anything but called his grey-eyed special commander whom no one in the army knew but he named him Sarhan. Sarhan came and received the orders to look for the Master.

*****************************

He was in his court, when he saw a man with brown eyes with the same face as he appeared in his dream, standing in front of him with a moist face, wet clothes and muddy boots. He did send his men looking for his whereabouts but to his surprise he reached him before the expected return of his man even in that heavy rain.

“How are you, my king?’’ The Master with brown eyes asked.

“I'm fine, how are you Master Baraak?’’

The King responded, “Sorry to disturb you at this moment. I sent Sarhan because I….’’

“Sarhan?’’ Master Baraak repeated with a sense of confusion.

“Yes, our Sarhan. I sent him for your search…. I need….’’, The King shared.

“You sent him?’’ Master Barack asked.

“Yes?’’ He affirmed.

“But I am here on my own. No one reached me.’’ Master Baraak told him.

“You came on your own...?’’ he questioned.

He heard the thunder and the long white curtains in the Kings assembly started dancing like a free child with the thrust of air and rain.

“Yes. I had a dream last night and since then I have been traveling to make it to you as dreams are precious to the one belonging to it.” Master Baraak said.

“What did you saw?’’ The King asked.

(He is standing in front of the tree of life and it is bowed down to him)

“That Eleen wanted me to give you the boy....and in return,’’ Master Baraak was saying.

(He whispers something that initially makes him happy, then confused and later contended)

“In return?’’ The King asked.

“In return you gave me a task,” Master Baraak told him.

“A Task?’’ He repeated.

“Yes, a task,” Master Baraak affirmed.

(Yield the power within to protect the fearless one)

“A task to train the fearless one,” The Master Barack told him.

“The fearless one….,” He thought for a moment, He repeated.

The King now gets the essence of hidden meaning in the dream.

“You are being summoned because I have to offer you a role?’’ The King shared.

“Role to train the fearless one. I…. got it,” The Master shocked the King.

“Should I share something else with you?’’ The King asked the Master.

“Yes, my King,” Master Baraak affirmed.

(Because my wife has delivered recently therefore, I was told to give you the good news myself)

“Congratulations for the new born!’’ The King said.

The Master was initially shocked but he realized that the King had a dream too. The dream that was going to tangle everyone in its influence.

As the Master made eye contact with the King, he said, “As I became a father recently, my king, what does it really implies?”.

(What protects the soul?)

(The Crystal or the light?)

It was the time where the King felt the cold throughout his spine that made his head spinning because even, he intercepted that dream too.

2.  Friend or Foe?

In the house of Wisdom

A soul shine

who is neither bright nor dark

Who knows nothing

 But have experienced all

Who may look ordinary

But feel as timeless

Who has no questions

But he knows it all

Who has no house

But holds the priceless key

And what do you know about the key?

That opens the truth of all realms

In one of the busiest and overcrowded markets of the Kingdom, everyone was busy either selling or buying except the old man who looked more like a beggar but was behaving like a sage. He was sitting in the corner of the street, and seemed quite irritated. When some children started throwing stones at him for fun, initially, he just became irritated, then he looked at them with his cold eyes. When the children didn't stop, he started looking for something to throw at them toward them off. Unfortunately, he didn't find anything but he noticed, at that exact moment, that a man in the purple silk clothes attracted those with some candies in his hand. The corner of his eyes noticed that the very next moment, he was approaching towards him. He was not in the mood to engage with him so he moved his face away from him giving him his silent answer.

The man came and sat there without saying a word.

Without caring for him, he slept and thought that he might leave, but to his astonishment when he woke up at midnight, the same person was sitting beside him with the same expressions as he had in the evening.

“Who are you?” asked the beggar.

“I’m nothing in front of your knowledge and everything for others,” the man replied.

“What do you want?” he extended his question.

“I want something special from you?” he told him.

“What?” the beggar questioned.

“Your eyes,” the spotless face of the man asked.

“My eyes?” The beggar was shocked at the demand of the man who helped him a few hours ago.

“Yes!” he affirmed.

And the man in the purple dress left.

*****************************

In the court, everyone was discussing the matters of the Kingdom but the King was entangled in the words from his last dream that still captured his soul. In his last dream, someone said something that didn't really make any sense. The King shifted his focus on the matters discussed in his court and the most prominent was the abduction of the young ones. It was reported to the King that there was a rising trend in crime since last week that newborns were being abducted by someone mysteriously. Most astonishing was that they returned by the very next day.

The court was full with all the courtiers; they shared their opinions and addressed the issue. However, no solution was finalized.

When everyone left, the one in a grey gown who rarely spoke stayed.

‘’Why are you so anxious sir?’’ Niccolo asked.

“The matter,” said the King.

“The matter of abduction?’’ Niccolo wants elaboration.

“I can sense that he is back,” he shared.

“He?’’ Niccolo questioned.

“The one who destroys all!” he claimed.

“Then, what are you planning to do?” Niccolo asked.

(Distance yourself from the present moment)

“You need not to be worried at all…’’ Niccolo says.

(Look into the history as there is no bigger teacher than the history)

“Instead, you must learn how your great grandfathers fought it,” Niccolo shared.

(And Look into the Future as it holds the strategies that shape the outcome)

“By Planning for a strategy,” the King remembered Sophie’s fathers’ initial lessons that were murmuring in his mind.

                *****************************

In the corner of the market, the one who was seated seemed less interested in the world, was perceived as not interested in the money too or at least his looks and his behavior reflected that. He was someone who had been stationed there for the past seven months. Nobody saw him desperate for attention for the past seven months. What was so interesting about him was that he covered his face yet one could feel the coldness of his heart through his eyes.

During the day he used to sleep, at night he sang. His madness used to repel others as rats repel cats. He was enjoying his singing when he heard the voice in the street during the wee hours when usually even no leaf moves. His eyes followed the noise; his vision pointed him to the door that was closed for months and he had not seen anyone moving in or out of that house since he was there. At the very alarming moment, he became so attentive as he was waiting for that moment for months. The very next moment, he locked his eyes at the target and he swiftly prepared himself within a few seconds. As he intended to move towards that house with the voice of a baby crying, something really hard as a mountain hit him. He could not see anything. The heavy smoke around him encapsulated and suffocated him until he lost his consciousness.

*****************************

Emre, the personal bodyguard of the King for others but a mirror for Sa’d, shared with him about the attack on the beggar. Sa’d, the friend for Emre and King for others, became shocked and asked about his whereabouts.

And ordered him to bring the beggar in the palace for treatment.

The beggar was treated and when he was healed and was persistent to leave. The doctor wanted him to stay to meet with the King then leave.

“Why would the King meet me?” the beggar in his brown gown asked.

“He has SOME business with you,” the doctor stopped him.

“With me?” he laughed.

The very next moment, he saw someone approaching towards him with a couple of bodyguards.

The beggar recognized those concerning eyes, and he said, “Yes, I got you!”

King’s eyes were as tense as when he met him in the market.

“You?” the beggar confirmed.

“Yes! my friend, I'm the King of this land,” he replied.

“What happened to the task that I assigned you?” The King asked.

“I promise that I will give you my eyes and I was doing my work but someone hit me; my brain and my eyes failed to follow the one whom you wanted desperately,” he told the King.

“Anything you can share about that event?” The King wanted to know more.

He started explaining and reporting everything that he saw, “I don't want to know it. I have heard about it already.”

But he was stopped by the King, “I want to know about what your eye has seen?” He wanted more out of him.

“I’m telling you what my eyes have seen,” the beggar continued.

“Not eyes, the eye,” the King shocked the beggar.

“The eye?” the beggar repeated in a state of confusion.

“Yes, your inner eye,” the King repeated.

“I want you to share what your inner eye felt, witnessed, experienced and saved for me?” the King told him.

“What are you talking about?” the beggar wanted clarity

“You know what I'm referring to!” the King confirmed.

“So, you want me to do you a favor again?” he smirked.

“Yes, my friend,” the King smiled.

“Then you have to visit me at my place to know the hidden truth that my eye saved for you, my friend,” the beggar concluded.

“Your wish is my command,” the King respected the knowledge that he was carrying.

“Meet me after a week at the same place where we met for the first time.”

“Remember, for the first time. Let's see that you even remember where you have met me before,” the beggar smiled.

“For the first time, I... met you in the market!” the King uttered.

“No, it is not the first time we have met before!” he confused the King.

“Met you before that?” the King said confusingly.

“Yes, that's why I’m giving you a week,” he then left, leaving the King engulfed in bundles of questions.

The King had to go back in time to remember where he met him, he remembered something of great importance that happened in the past few months.

*****************************

A few months earlier, these days had made the King quite restless and stressed out as he was fighting against an evil that cannot be seen. The more he knew about it, the farther it went into darkness. The hide and seek had weakened his strategy. It was bearable until the King came to know that it had abducted the eight newborns. This offensive attack forced the King to look for a solution that could at least take him more towards the evil. He wanted to attack it to make the balance again in the chess board of his Kingdom.

One thing out of nothing started roaming around in his mind and it was nothing but the voice of his father to visit the old lake area in the South of the Kingdom in the days of threats from the enemies but he never visited it all those years but now he was really considering his advice now.

Considering the stress these days, he planned his day to take a day off, he made a plan to visit that area which would demand at least two days. He rose up, called Emre and asked for something that confused him completely.  A few hours later, when Emre brought him what he wanted, the King then shut the door, selected one of them, wore it, and in the end, he covered his face. He himself was shocked when he saw his reflection in the mirror as he was unable to identify the person in the mirror. He turned, opened the lock and when Emre saw him, not only he was confused but also anxious as he could not read the mind of the person standing in front of him wearing craftsman's clothes.

“Why are you wearing it sir?” Emre asked.

“Do you hold that authority to ask?” Sa’d smiled at his childhood friend.

When he was about to leave the room, Emre thought and asked, “what he was up to?”

“Nothing, I have to meet someone, I will be back in a day.” he replied.

“In a DAY?” in a shock Emre repeated because since he was on the throne he never left without anyone for even a day.

“Yes, till then no one, even Mercan-the Queen, should not know that I’m not in the palace,” he ordered.

“Then, what would I say if asked?” Emre, his childhood friend and personal secretary asked.

“Say what you usually say!” he told him.

“Means that you are busy with your private matters in your personal space,” he smiled back.

He nodded his neck as he was affirming him.

(Go in the South, visit the lake, but you have to go alone)

The King moved out of the North side of his kingdom during sunset, it is for the first time as he moved out of the palace without his right hand who usually accompanied him like a shadow. The reason was his father’s condition to visit that place alone. He never had the courage to go outside of the walls but the intensity of issues had forced him to take this bold step.

“Why did I take this bold step?” he asked himself.

“What if that evil will attack me again?”

Then he remembered, “you need to fight your own demons before fighting the real one and this journey will prepare you for that,” his father’s voice ringing in his mind.

“And remember, your intentions of goodwill will let you meet a guide on the way who will answer your question without hearing it,” the voice of his father replayed from the memory box.

“However, if you fear your own demons too much, it will cloud your way and you will never meet that guide who holds the key to your problem,” he remembered his father’s advice.

After reaching the south of the Kingdom, he became astonished to see the Magnificent purple tree of his dreams. The purple- and yellow-colored leaves made him forget about the kingdom for a second. He noticed the red berries, small but juicy, shining like diamonds in the setting sun. In contrast, the stem of the tree was green. It was neither tall nor a short tree but its shade occupied such a space that it could gather as many people as his Kingdom held under its shade. His nose smelled a different smell, something that initially felt like basil but later it changed to a more intense smell that he had never smelled anything like before. The King never had smelled this before but he is sure that his mind knew it. This is quite mysterious, he thought.

“Is it an illusion or what?”

“So, you have come at last!” he heard the feminine voice from the other side of the tree, he perceived that a female was on the other side.

“Yes, at last!” the King whispered.

“Why did it take you so long?” the feminine voice asked.

“Because you wanted me not before, but now,” the King answered with humility.

The laugh made the King uncomfortable, “so, you are one of the blessed!”

“Only the soul knows,” the King replied.

“Amazing,” the feminine voice laughed too.

“Why are you not doing what you need to do?” she asked.

“In what terms?” he questioned.

“In fighting the evil,” she shared.

“How can I fight it when I don't know about it?” he questioned.

“Then, know yourself. Only then you can know about it.” she shared the message for which he has come to meet her.

“Should I cross this side to meet you?” the King questioned.

“You've already met me.” It ended the conversation but the King seemed as if he got nothing

****************************

After his meeting with his female guide whom he had communicated with but not seen, he was quite out of the blue. The feeling was nothing but pure.

Upon his way back to the palace, he passed by the market after his meeting with the feminine guide but he was not sure whether it helped him or not. He was not able to confirm whether the meeting helped him or not?

As he was passing by the market, the thunder happened, everything changed and he remembered something from his dream as his eyes met someone’s eye.

(In the house of Wisdom; A soul shines)

He was sitting at the forefront of the door of the oldest library in the town. His presence was quite unique compared to others.

(who is neither bright nor dark)

The King saw that he was quite unusual compared to the other beggars in the town. The King noticed, when boys were teasing him, he was neither polite nor angry.

(Who may know nothing; But have experienced all)

The King could feel that he was the one who held power over his eyes.

(Who look ordinary; But feel as timeless)

The King approached him and recognized the smell.

(Who has no questions; But he knows all)

He was unaware of the world around but the King knew what his soul was enjoying. The King approached him, sat beside him but to his astonishment, he was not in the mood to engage with the King so he moved his face away from him giving him his answer. He asked no questions to the King. However, the King knew that he knew what the King needed to know.

(Who has no house; But holds the priceless key)

The man slept and thought that he might leave but to his astonishment when he woke up at midnight the King was sitting beside him with the same expressions as he had in the morning.

(And what do you know about the key?)

“Who are you?” asked the beggar.

“I’m nothing in front of your knowledge and everything for others,” the man replied.

“What do you want?” He extended his question.

(That opens the truth of all realms)

“I want something special from you?” He told him.

“What?” the beggar questioned.

“Your eyes,” the spotless face of the man asked.

“My eyes?” The beggar was shocked at the demand of the man who helped him a few hours ago.

The King knew that he had the eye: the eye that can see, listen and feel everything that others cannot. In which all the worlds can be confined. His eye would help him fight the evil as he was holding all the truth related to the evil against which he has to fight.

*****************************

Now in the present time, the King gathered the courage to meet the beggar, and he knew where to find him. He remembered exactly where he met him for the first time.

The King again dressed up as an ordinary man as he had to meet his new mentor today whom he was going to meet for the third time. As he was walking towards the destination, his heart knew where the treasure was. After crossing the river, he found himself standing on the spot. As he came near it, he just hugged him. And then after a brief moment when he felt his love was appreciated, he then moved his hands above and have something from the bushes and then put it into his mouth and then said,

“Bon Appetit my friend! your berries are very fruitful as your message and your message was as communicative as your cold eyes were.”
