Idrees Qureshi is the founder of Opportunities Circle, a user friendly portal that allows you to access all possible opportunities related to scholarships, internships, researches, online courses and much more. It also allows you to filter opportunities based on what you are looking for, your location and other factors. The best part about it is that it is completely free!
What Type of Growth Opportunities does the Opportunities Circle (OC) provide?
Providing around 18 types of opportunities, the Opportunities Circle targets all ages, genders and locations in Pakistan. It doesn’t matter if you are in high school, college or even in your professional life because the portal has opportunities for everybody! Opportunities for people who are not from very well off backgrounds are available to help them grow and learn more.
Idrees talks about how with the right skillset and motivation, you can travel the world and get the exposure! Internship opportunities with top tier companies like google and courses from schools like Harvard can completely change the perspective of an individual and allow a person to look at things in a new light. Opportunities Circle aims to let the maximum people benefit from this portal of endless opportunities and openings. You just need to have an active internet connection to access them! In fact, Idrees has appointed ambassadors in remote areas to help connect those who are unable to do so themselves.
How and when to apply for which Growth Opportunity?
Idrees realizes how it can be difficult navigating the website portal and being overwhelmed to a point where you don’t know what to do. This is why OC recently launched their own youtube channel that helps potential customers find their way and match them with the perfect opportunities. OC also holds live sessions with alumni of each program to let the audience ask questions from someone who has actually experienced what they are planning to experience.
How to become a part of the OC?
Opportunities Circle has ambassadors and volunteers all over the world who help them in providing the nation this great service. The ambassador program allows individuals to enable people around them to learn new things and grow. There are two types of ambassador programs: the ‘campus ambassador’ and the ‘volunteer program.’ You can apply for these programs online through their portal.
Pre-requisites for applying in global opportunities
Let’s dive into some of the pre requisites you would need if you’re applying to a job/college/internship/program abroad:
- Latest CNIC
- A passport that is valid for another 2-3 years
- If you’re a university student, you should preferably have your DMC made
- Personal Statement (Make sure you’re reflecting your truest self!)
- Motivation letter
- Write a new cover letter specific to each place you’re applying to
- Have a dream and don’t be scared to follow it
- Do your research and be prepared
- DON’T BE LAZY!!!
