 What is #BoysWhoRead ?

#BoysWhoRead is a project by Daastan that featured the reading trends among boys in Pakistan. We are used to seeing girls with novels and monthly magazines, but have we ever acknowledged boys reading books? I guess not. This aspect of reading circle is often overlooked. Hence, people forget that some of the greatest authors of all time are men. Whether it is Sophocles’ Theban Plays, Shakespeare’s Romeo Juliet, Milton’s Paradise Lost or everyone’s favourite John Green, author to our most precious The Fault in our Stars, we can not deny the contribution of men in literature. So how come they do not make up the majority of the reading pool. So, to discover the book geeks Daastan’s #BoysWhoRead is here!

The Overwhelming Response

The moment we made our campaign live, entries came flooding in. Men from all age groups and walks of life sent in their pictures along with their favourite books. Daastan believes sky is the limit. To our surprise, one fine morning after the campaign launch, our team woke up to find out that #BoysWhoRead was viral on many social media platforms. We are overwhelmed by your response. Keep your entries coming! To see more pictures under the hashtag, head over to @MyDaastan
